Welcome to Stay Healthy
Growing up can be difficult at times. Everyone worries that they are different in some way and often people feel pressured to look or behave in a certain way. It's normal to have questions and concerns about your body and how you feel but what you might think is a really big deal is actually normal.
We hope that the Stay Healthy pages answer some of your questions and concerns. You will find lots of information on a range of different health and well-being issues. These issues include fitness and diet, mental health and well-being, sexual health and drugs and alcohol. All these sections feature information, advice and support.
In addition, each of the health pages have an email link to Dialogue Youth. You can use this link to email any health questions that you may have to a health worker from NHS Borders. Questions emailed in to Dialogue Youth will be answered by someone from NHS Borders as quickly as possible. This is totally annonymous and you dont have to put your name in the email. Our Questions and Answers page within 'Stay Healthy' will show some of the questions that have been asked along with the answers. These questions may help other young people who have been wondering that same thing or have the same problem. No name will be used on this page, it is totally confidential. If you didnt want to have your question on the website then just say.
While this site should not be used instead of seeing a doctor or nurse, it can be used to increase your understanding of various health subjects and how to acess help and support if you need it. The 'contacts' section of the website contains phone numbers, addresses, email addresses and opening times for a whole range of health services, both local and national.
In this section you can also read the latest updates from the 'BYHF'. BYHF stands for Borders Youth Health Forum which is made up of a group of young people from the Borders who working on improving health services for young people.
If we have missed anything out or you can't find the information you are looking for then let us know and we will do our best to help you.
