The aim of this new project is to provide young people with something fun, safe and active to do on a Friday night in the rural areas west of Stirling. Initially, the project will provide a drop-in for young people aged 14+ in Killearn and Balfron on alternate Friday nights.
In addition to the drop-in, over time the local community will be supported and trained to independently run the group to ensure its sustainability. It is then envisaged that the Project will move on to other rural communities and replicate this capacity building process.
So what will be on offer? Young people can come along to the drop-in and tell us what their youth provision should offer, from learning new skills to making new friends. Activities on offer could be anything from sports, arts, music, drama, discussions, accreditation and training.
If you're aged 14 + and live in the Balfron High catchment area then come along to either night at Killearn or Balfron, 7 - 9pm.
Killearn Village Hall: 6th & 20th Nov, 4th & 18th Dec
Balfron McLintock Hall: 13th & 27th Nov and 11th Dec
Both drop-in's will continue to run in the New Year, with dates/times to be confirmed. For further information please contact Sarah Winstone on 01786 432211 or youthservices@stirling.gov.uk
